York Works highlights new Sustainable Works! program
The Regional Municipality of York newsletter contains updates on a variety of transportation and environmental programs, projects and services
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York this week has mailed the Spring/Summer edition of York Works to more than 300,000 households across York Region.
York Works is a newsletter published twice annually by The Regional Municipality of York’s Transportation Services and Environmental Services departments to help residents stay informed of Regional programs, projects and services.
This edition features a two-page spread entitled Sustainable Works! April and May are Sustainable
Works! months, characterized by a number of public events to celebrate accomplishments in water conservation, forest expansion, advances in waste management and making transit a sustainable transportation option for residents.
In addition, York Works features information on:
• New Transit/High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes and bicycle lanes coming to Dufferin Street
• York Region’s upcoming toilet rebate program
• Municipal watering bylaws
• The switch to compostable bags in the Green Bin
• High-tech transit tips
• Waste Management updates
