Atlantis Approaching: Journey to Tuvalu, the world's fourth-smallest country, where creeping tides, shifting storm patterns and environmental problems are taking their toll on this fragile paradise.  World War II damage lingers, overpopulation is putting pressure on natural resources and changing diets are resulting in soaring diabetes rates.   Using humour and local colour, the filmmakers of Atlantis Approaching present a cautionary tale for what could be in store for us all.

The Regional Municipality of York Administrative Centre is located at 17250 Yonge Street in the Town of Newmarket and is easily accessible by public transit, including Viva and YRT.
Films shown at York Region’s Planet for Tomorrow screenings have been previously included in the not-for-profit Planet in Focus International Environmental Film and Video Festival.  For information on this festival, please visit www.planetinfocus.org
