York Region restaurants measure up

Township of King eating establishments receive prestigious award
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York is pleased to announce that two food establishments in the Township of King have earned a 2009 Eat Smart! award. 
 
This prestigious award recognizes the efforts of local food premises in meeting exceptional standards set in the areas of food safety, healthy food choices and smoke-free dining.
 
The Township of King’s Eat Smart! Award Ceremony will take place at the beginning of Township of King Council on Monday, April 6th.

The York Region Community and Health Services department participates in the Eat Smart! provincial program in partnership with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario and the Canadian Cancer Society.  Awards are granted on an annual basis.
 
This year, individual award ceremonies will be held in each of the nine local municipalities where the recognized food establishments reside.
