Road restriction on King Road between Highway 400 and Jane Street

Soil erosion reduces eastbound King Road from two lanes to one

NEWMARKET The Regional Municipality of York is advising motorists that the eastbound lanes of King Road between Highway 400 and Jane Street have been reduced from two lanes to one due to soil erosion on the south-west side of the Humber River Bridge.

York Region's Roads Transportation staff has installed barricades for the temporary closure of the eastbound curb lane, while maintaining two lanes westbound.

Motorists are advised they could expect delays and are requested to reduce their speed through the affected area.  York Region staff has installed appropriate signage to assist drivers in this area.

It is expected that this temporary lane restriction will be in place into next week.
