Road closure this weekend on Highway 400 between Major Mackenzie Drive to King Road

Bridge demolition to close northbound and southbound lanes on Highway 400
NEWMARKET The Ontario Ministry of Transportation will be closing Highway 400 between Major Mackenzie Drive and King Road from midnight Saturday, May 31st until 8 a.m. Sunday June 1st to accommodate the demolition of the Teston Road bridge.
 
The road closure will result in the following:
 A two-lane closure in each direction commencing on Saturday May 31st at 11 p.m., expanding to a full closure of Highway 400 at 11:59 p.m.
 Two lanes will re-open in each direction on Sunday June 1st at 8 a.m. and all lanes will be reopened to traffic at 9 a.m.
 
Motorists travelling northbound will have to exit Highway 400 at Major Mackenzie Drive and detour via Jane Street to King Road during the demolition.  Motorists travelling southbound will have to exit Highway 400 at King Road and detour via Weston Road to Major Mackenzie Drive. 
 
Commuters should expect delays and/or plan alternate routes for travel through the duration of the closure.
