Broken watermain closes westbound lanes on Langstaff Road between Dufferin Street and Pleasant Ridge Avenue

Traffic reduced to one lane in each direction

NEWMARKET The two westbound lanes of Langstaff Road between Dufferin Street and Pleasant Ridge Avenue in the City of Vaughan have been closed due to a broken watermain.

Traffic has been restricted to one lane in each direction as motorists have been re-routed to the eastbound lanes.

The broken watermain has caused significant pavement damage, as well as damage to hydro utilities.  Work crews from York Region and Powerstream are on-site assessing damage.

The closure will keep the lanes closed throughout the evening rush hour and through the weekend.

York Region will issue an update when the lanes are re-opened.
