Lane re-opened on King Road between Highway 400 and Jane Street

Lanes narrowed to allow for repair to damaged section of roadway

NEWMARKET The Regional Municipality of York has opened all four lanes on King Road between Highway 400 and Jane Street, following the closure of one of the two eastbound lanes on Friday afternoon due to soil erosion on the southwest side of the Humber River Bridge.

While all lanes are now open, they have been narrowed through the affected area near the bridge.  Motorists are asked to continue to slow down through the area.

York Region staff are working with a consultant on a repair schedule for the roadway.  Commuters are advised that further lane closures will be necessary to complete repairs.

York Region would like to thank motorists for their patience as repairs take place.  Updates will be provided as work progresses.
