Newmarket resident succeeds Barbara Munro in Council appointed position effective July 1st
NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York has appointed Newmarket resident Barbara-Ann Bartlett to the York Regional Police Services Board. Barbara-Ann takes over the position from Barbara Munro, after the successful completion of her term.
“I am very pleased that York Regional Council has selected Barbara-Ann to fill the vacancy on the Police Services Board,” said York Region Chairman and CEO Bill Fisch, also a member of the Police Services Board. “Barbara Munro provided a distinguished term of service to the board and our community, and I am confident that the experience and professionalism that Barbara-Ann brings will be equally beneficial.”
Barbara-Ann joins the York Regional Police Services Board with a wealth of volunteer experience, having served on the board of Community Living Newmarket/Aurora for 17 years, the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce for nine years and the Smart Commute York Central board for two years.
“Barbara-Ann Bartlett will bring a great deal of knowledge and insight to the York Regional Police Services Board,” said Town of Georgina Regional Councillor Danny Wheeler, Chair of the Police Services Board. “I look forward to hearing her ideas and discussing how we can improve on the exceptional level of service provided by York Regional Police.”
The York Regional Police Services Board has seven members, including Bill Fisch (appointed as Chair of York Regional Council); Danny Wheeler and Town of Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti (appointed as members of York Regional Council); Joe Persechini (Vice-Chair), Sam Herzog and Joanna Yu (appointed by the Government of Ontario); and Barbara-Ann Bartlett (citizen appointed by York Regional Council).
