The RSS technology, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, allows subscribers to receive information updates immediately after they become available online. Visiting the website is not required for these updates and there is no registration process or cost to subscribe.
The RSS technology, commonly referenced as part of a new generation of interactive technologies know as Web 2.0, has become very popular with people who receive information from multiple online sources. Instead of taking the time to visit various websites, RSS allows the information from many sites to be sent directly to site users.
To subscribe to The Regional Municipality of York RSS 2.0 feed, please visit www.york.ca and click on the RSS 2.0 symbol (pictured above).
Alternatively, subscribers can use our direct RSS link www.york.ca/RSSmedia.xml
For new users who are interested in trying RSS 2.0 but are looking for more information, please visit our RSS introductory page.
