NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York will be hosting a public consultation session on Tuesday, July 24th for residents to attend and learn more about the Durham/York Residual Waste Environmental Assessment (EA) Study being conducted by Durham and York Regions.
The sessions will provide background information on the Study, identify accomplishments that have been achieved to-date, discuss the results of the recent preliminary Health Risk Assessment Feasibility Study and highlight the site-specific studies required to evaluate the short list of sites.
York Region is committed to an open and transparent Study process and is hosting an upcoming public session to provide an opportunity for residents to become engaged in the Study, learn more about the background work that has taken place and propose any questions or concerns that they may have to the Study team.
Following public consultation, further studies will be conducted on all potential sites throughout the summer months and a preferred site will be recommended to York and Durham Regional Councils in Fall 2007.
