York Region accepting corrugated election signs for recycling

Program offered in effort to divert more waste from landfills

NEWMARKET – In efforts to increase the diversion of waste from landfills, The Regional Municipality of York’s recycling program will be accepting election signs at our Waste Management Centre this Saturday, November 18th.

Candidates and members of their campaign team are welcome to drop-off corrugated plastic election signs (plastic signs that have similar appearance to corrugated cardboard) at the Region’s Waste Management Centre on Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The Centre is located at 100 Garfield Wright Boulevard in the Town of East Gwillimbury.  All signs being delivered must have all fasteners, wood or metal stakes and wires removed prior to drop-off.  If any piece of wood or metal remains attached to the signs, the delivery will not be accepted at the Centre.  Please note that plastic film election signs will not be accepted.
