Document includes financial reporting and highlights accomplishments achieved last year
NEWMARKET –York Regional Council today received the Regional Municipality of York’s 2005 Annual Report, entitled “Vision. Service. Growth.”
The 2005 Annual Report is a 65-page document that highlights information on York Regional Council and the goals and accomplishments of Regional Committees and staff. A report from the Regional Treasurer is included, in addition to financial statements, a statistical review and reports from auditors.
“I am proud of the achievements outlined in the 2005 Annual Report,” said Regional Chair and CEO Bill Fisch. “This document demonstrates the magnitude of work and the depth of services and programs that have been delivered by the Regional Municipality of York in 2005.”
“This public report demonstrates York Region’s commitment to financial accountability,” said Town of Aurora Mayor Tim Jones, Chair of the Region’s Finance and Administration Committee. “York Region strives to ensure that programs and services continue to be delivered to the residents of York Region in a cost-effective and efficient manner.”
The 2005 Annual Report features a description of each of the nine area municipalities and a list of the essential services provided by York Region.
“The commitment demonstrated throughout 2005 by York Region staff is evident by the number of initiatives outlined in the Annual Report,” said York Region Chief Administrative Officer Michael Garrett. “Year after year, staff continue to raise the bar and deliver excellent customer service as well as valuable programs and services to the public.”
