2005 edition of YorkLink now available

NEWMARKET – The Regional Municipality of York released the 2005 edition of its community services directory at Regional Council today.  YorkLink: A Community Services Directory provides comprehensive information on nearly 700 community service providers and related government agencies in York Region.  This includes local family support groups, seniors and youth programs, child care centres and government offices.

“I’m really pleased with the 2005 edition of YorkLink,” said Regional Chair and CEO Bill Fisch.  “It remains a valuable information resource for residents across the Region.”

Where available, listings indicate sites with accessible building features such as elevators, barrier-free washrooms, wheelchair access and parking spaces for people with disabilities.

The printed version of YorkLink is distributed to community service providers, libraries, community information centres, school boards and local municipal offices throughout the Region.

Updated regularly, the on-line version available through the York Region Web site at www.york.ca, provides the most up-to-date community services information.  Users can search by key word, as well as service type or name, language and area served.

A printed copy of YorkLink is available free of charge by calling (905) 830-4444 or 1-877-464-9675, Ext. 2151 or e-mailing yorklink@york.ca
