The Small Bus Strategy will determine the feasibility of using smaller buses (less than 30 feet) on Regional roads. If successful the Newmarket pilot may allow for general use of small buses across YRTs transit operations.
The pilot project in Newmarket will last one year, with an assessment after six months.
The Route 520/521 Newmarket Community Bus will offer midday and evening service Monday to Friday, and all day weekend service using small, low-floor, accessible buses.
