York Region lifts Stage 2 Outdoor Water Use Ban for community of Kleinburg
All of York Region remains under Stage 1 Outdoor Water Use Advisory
NEWMARKET – With increased rainfall and cooler weather, the Regional Municipality of York today lifted its Stage 2 Outdoor Water Use Ban for the community of Kleinburg.
York Region would like to thank Kleinburg residents for their compliance during the recent water ban. Conservation efforts have been critical in allowing water levels to recover to the point where a ban is no longer necessary to ensure an adequate supply in the event of an emergency.
While reservoirs across the Region have recovered significantly over the last week, due in part to conservation efforts by residents, York Region will continue to remain under a Stage 1 Outdoor Water Use Advisory to maintain adequate water reserves.
The Stage 1 Outdoor Water Use Advisory requests all persons refrain from using municipal water from a hose, pipe, sprinkler or permanent irrigation system for the purposes of watering lawns or gardens, washing vehicles, sidewalks or driveways, and filling or topping up swimming pools.
York Region officials will continue to monitor outdoor water usage to determine when the current Stage 1 Advisory can be lifted.
