Free forum discusses technology for people with disabilities


NEWMARKET The Human Services Planning Coalition (HSPC) is offering another free inFORUM YORK session in its "New Ages of Majority" series discussing issues affecting youth and seniors.


This session, entitled "Technology for Independence", looks at technology that is available to help people with disabilities.  Representatives from the Canadian Hearing Society and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind will discuss up and coming innovations in technology, and how they will be used by older adults and people with physical disabilities and visual impairments. Staff from York Region will also talk about approaches it is taking to identify and overcome barriers, and improve accessibility.
