Guided Earth Week evening forest walk

NEWMARKET - York Region joins the world in celebrating Earth Week from April 19 to 24, 2004. Residents are invited to take a guided evening walk in the York Regional Forest in celebration of Earth Day, April 22nd.
When:        Earth Day 2004 - Thursday, April 22
Time:         6:30 to 8:00 pm
Where:       York Regional Forest Headquarters, Hollidge Tract
        (east side of Hwy 48 between Vivian and Aurora Roads)
Distance:    Three kilometers in total
Pace:           Leisurely
Remember to dress appropriately (long sleeves, long pants and a hat). This event will occur rain or shine and it is cooler in the forest.  Bring a pair of sturdy, closed-toe comfortable boots and remember your bug repellent, hand sanitizer and drinking water.  Children under eighteen years of age must be accompanied by a supervisory adult. 
Parking is available, but please car pool if possible. There is no cost to participate in this program.
York Region Earth Week activities have been organized by various York Region departments and community partners: York Region Health Services, Transportation and Works (Solid Waste Management Branch and Natural Heritage and Forestry Services), Water for Tomorrow, York Region Transit, Planning and Economic Development Services, Sodexho and Windfall Ecology Centre.
