York Region offering support for families whose birth experience was affected by the SARS outbreak

NEWMARKET York Region Health Services is holding two group meetings on the evening of August 27th and September 3rd for parents to discuss and receive support regarding the effects of the SARS outbreak on their birth experience and the weeks surrounding it.

These meetings may be helpful to those who have experienced significant disappointment during the SARS outbreak due to quarantine; separation from the baby; or a change in family, professional or hospital support.

The purpose is to provide support, networking, learn from one another, and share resources for future support. Public Health Nurses will lead the groups, which is free of charge.

For more information on these group meetings, the location, time and how to participate, please call toll-free to York Region Health Services Health Connection line at 1-800-361-5653.
