Housing options for older adults in York Region

NEWMARKET – The Human Services Planning Coalition (HSPC) continues its inFORUM YORK series on the "New Ages of Majority". This second session, entitled "You're Going to Live…Where?" will feature a sampling of existing and new housing options for older adults in York Region, including in-home care, long- term care facilities, assisted housing, and private retirement homes. Almost one-quarter of people move when they become seniors. Most move less than 50 kilometres and they usually move to smaller homes that are closer to other family members. Compare affordability, accessibility and lifestyle opportunities of different housing choices.

The session will take place on Friday, June 20 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Rogers Television studios at 395A Mulock Drive, behind the Town of Newmarket municipal offices. Admission is free and pre-registration is required. Call (905) 830-4444 or 1-877-464-9675, Ext. 1515.
