NEWMARKET Ė The Regional Municipality of York released its 2002 Annual Report entitled "Taking Action for Strong Communities".
"The theme of this yearís report appropriately acknowledges the commitment of Regional Council, our Regional Staff and area Municipalities to create strong communities," said Bill Fisch, Regional Chair and CEO. "It clearly shows the Region is taking action through ambitious planning, effective program and service delivery and sound fiscal management."
The report highlights information on Regional Council, Committee and staff accomplishments, audited financial statements and the Five-year Review.
"The 2002 Annual Report reflects the Regionís sound financial management and prudent business practices," said Aurora Mayor Tim Jones, Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee. "Our business strategies incorporate a framework for continuous improvement to ensure taxpayers receive full value for their investment."
The report also features an insert that provides a list of Regional services and a description of the nine municipalities in York Region.
The Annual Report is available for pick up at the York Region Administrative Centre information kiosk and will be available via York Regionís Web site.
