SARS media article carried incorrect information

A Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) related article that appeared in today’s Toronto Star (April 4, 2003 edition) carried incorrect information.

Please note that the SARS case that forced the temporary closure of the Brookside/Hilltop Retirement Residence in Richmond Hill on April 2nd can be traced to York Central Hospital and the initial case at Scarborough Hospital – Grace Division. This case does not represent a new outbreak of SARS.

We would appreciate media outlets correcting any reports that may have relayed incorrect information from today’s Star article. A correction will be appearing in tomorrow’s edition of The Toronto Star.
