York Region releases 2001 Annual Report

 

Newmarket The Regional Municipality of York today released its 2001 Annual Report here to serve you, a name which reflects the top strategic priority for the Region customer service.

"Our success as a region is a direct result of the dedication and vision of Regional Council, our Regional Staff and area Municipalities," said Bill Fisch, Regional Chair and CEO. "This report shows that, working together, we are managing the fastest growing Region in Canada and are clearly focused on delivering the best public service in the country."

York Region's audited financial statements, the Five-year Review, information on Regional Council and the accomplishments of Committees and Staff are all highlighted in the Annual Report.

"In 2001, York Region's economy continued to grow and diversify," said Sandra Cartwright, Commissioner of Finance and Regional Treasurer. "This trend of economic vitality is projected to continue."

The report also features a pullout section that provides a list of Regional services and descriptions of the nine area municipalities in York Region.

The Annual Report is available for pick up at the York Region Administrative Centre information kiosk. It will be available via York Region's Web site as of July 1, 2002.
