Welcome World Youth Day Delegates

York Region is pleased to host approximately 7,000 delegates and cathecheses events during the World Youth Day (WYD) 2002 Conference in Toronto, July 22nd to 28th inclusive.

Cathecheses are times of prayer, discussion and reflection based on the teachings of the Church. Cathecheses will be given on the mornings of July 24th, 25th and 26th.

To accommodate those who will be taking public transit to the Toronto-based WYD events and activities, York Region Transit is enhancing some of its bus service routes to and from the Finch Subway/YRT Terminal.

In addition, registered World Youth Day pilgrims carrying their special transit pass will have free access on all YRT buses on specified dates on their past from July 22nd to 29th. For details, click on to the York Region Transit Web site at www.yorkregiontransit.com or call toll-free at 1-866-MOVE YRT (668-3978) to speak to a YRT customer representative.
